Jens Viggo Fjord is one of the most innovative Scandinavian composers in the world of traditional Brazilian guitar music. His works have received much praise from Brazilian musicians, and Danish critics have labelled them not only ‘’High Level’’ but ‘’Real Pearls’’.
The present collection features some of Fjord’s finest compositions, as recorded on his two highly acclaimed CDs ‘’Marilua’’ (Intermusic, 2000) and ‘’Aguas’’ (Gateway Music, 2007) – with the exception of ‘’Sonhador’’ and ‘’Bossafun’’, which are recent compositions.
‘’Borboleta’’, a Brazilian waltz, was recently recorded by the outstanding Rio-based guitarist
Rogério Souza on his solo album ‘’Violão Brasileiro’’ (Niterói Discos, 2008). This collection was endorsed by Rogério Souza.
